Olympic Gold!
In today's final of the Team Pursuit, Team Canada beat Team USA to win the gold medal! Together with teammates Denny Morrison and Mathieu Giroux, Lucas skated to a time of 3:41.37, where Team USA needed 3:41.58 to complete their race. Read more

After first defeating Italy (Olympic champions in Torino in 2006) in the quarter finals, and then Norway in the semi finals today, Lucas and teammates Denny Morrison and Mathieu Giroux advanced to the final of the Olympic Team Pursuit. Read more

Today, Lucas finished 19th in the Olympic 1500m. He skated in the 19th and final pair against none other than Shani Davis, gold medalist in Wednesday’s 1000m. Lucas needed 1:48.61 to complete the distance. Read more

Lucas gave a great start to the new year today, when he finished first in the 1500m at the Canadian single Distances Championships/Olympic Trials! He needed 1:44.47 to complete the distance. Read more

On the second day of the Canadian Single Distances Championships/Olympic Trials, Lucas skated the 5000m. He finished in a time of 6:24.57 (personal best), which earned him the gold medal and a spot on the Olympic Team! Read more

On the final day of the World Cup in Salt Lake City, Lucas raced the Team Pursuit and managed to win the bronze medal, together with team mates Steven Elm and Mathieu Giroux. Read more

In today’s 5000m at the World Cup in Salt Lake City, Lucas raced in the fifth pair against Johan Röjler. He seemed to be skating towards a fast time, but unfortunately fell with two laps to go and consequently finished 20th in a time of 6:29.18. "As disappointing as the fall was, everything up to that point in the race reassured me that my engine is there for the 5k." Read more
