Hey,

I hope everyone has had a great week. Right now I’m sitting in my hotel room in Hamar realising how far north I actually am. Relative to Canada, it’s equivalent to being just up in the Northwest Territories. It gets dark here by 4pm, so I’ve made sure to turn all the lights on in my room so the ‘evenings’ don’t seem to take up most the day. But don’t worry; all of the light bulbs here are energy efficient!

Anyway, tomorrow is the first day of the long distance World Cup here in Hamar. I’m looking forward to both races this weekend – the 1500m and 10 000m. Last weekend I had a great 1500m in Heerenveen, which I can only hope to improve on, and the 10 000m on Sunday will be my first of the year. We’ll see how it goes! Either way, both races this weekend have the potential to give me good points in the World Cup standings.

On another note, thanks to all of the new members who have recently signed up! All of your guestbook signatures and comments mean a lot, especially when I get to read them on the road. I really appreciate everyone’s support, so again, thanks!!

Have a great weekend!
