Together with brothers Jay and Denny Morrison, Lucas claimed another gold medal in the Team Pursuit today (after the gold medal in Berlin at the start of the season) at the World Cup in Erfurt. The Canadian team raced against the United States in the last pair of the day and finished in a time of 3:46.03, giving the Canadians the overall lead (310 points).

“It was just a solid race”, Lucas told Speed Skating Canada. “We came in with a specific race plan we wanted to execute. There were many teams who were dying in the end of their races and we didn't want to fall in that same position. So we skated more of a conservative race at the beginning to finish strong, and it paid off for us at the end of the day. Winning the World Cup Title definitely ups our confidence for the World Single Distances Championships in Richmond. With the group change we had the beginning of the year, we've been able to practice all the elements of a pursuit together. It definitely shows that our training is paying off.”
